Wade Cooper

Yesterday was my very first newborn photo shoot and I absolutely loved it! Wade Cooper Szweda is the son of Katie and Dan. He was 8 days old the day of the shoot but alert the entire time! Katie is my stepdaughter, Ashtyn's mother. This precious little boy is Ashtyn's little brother and adorable as ever! I took 315 pictures, narrowed them down to 79 but here are a few of my favorites:

Planning a Party! maybe... two

So I have two parties that I am planning right now.

1) Kristi's baby shower
It's a Little Gentleman theme with preppy bowties and stuff. Below are the invitations.

Everything is going to center around bowties and the colors grey, yellow, and blue.  So cute! I am even going to have a table of yummy goodies labeled Kristi's Cravings.  I cannot wait to post pictures.

Party #2)
Ashtyn's Diva 11th birthday complete with runway, makeovers, magazine scavenger hunt, and fashion show.  I will keep you posted for that too!

cotton or straw?

So, last year, for our first anniversary, JT and I decided that our "tradition" would be to follow a the list of traditional wedding gifts by anniversary year.  The first anniversary was paper. I got JT an SEC magazine with a pigskin preview.  He got me a newspaper with the date of our first anniversary.  We also went on a little getaway to the Brasstown Valley Resort.

This year, because of money, we will not be taking a vacation for our anniversary.  However, according to this list the gifts for a 2nd year anniversary is cotton or straw.  Two items that could be hard to find.  The first thing that came to mind was cotton balls or swabs :) However, I did think of cotton tee shirts, undies, straw hats, but I settled on this:

It is a straw for a milkshake.  JT's favorite restaurant is Steak and Shake.  And since money is tight this year, we are going to Steak and Shake for dinner and have milkshakes with our straws to toast our 2nd year.

Wow, two whole years as a married couple.  There have been moments where I thought we wouldn't make it two whole days! But I have to say, I love JT and our family.  He brings a smile to my face and laughter to my heart. I am glad that God has put him in my life. We are so much alike that we butt heads at times, but I would not trade him for the world.

Friday Firsts

Today was a first for me and JT.  We went to West GA, where I am a two-time alum.  But it wasn't for me. It was for him.  JT is starting graduate school at West GA on Monday.  The MPA program.  I am so proud of him.  He is so motivated and driven now. I cannot even convey to him how proud and happy he makes me.

We bought his books, got his ID and parking pass, toured the campus and ate lunch at the Corner Cafe on the Square. It was great.

Good Luck JT.

In other news, my interview went great, and I have been called in for a second interview next week.

Waiting for baby Clark

So tomorrow I have the privilege of taking maternity photos of my best friend and her husband.  I am excited and nervous.  I hope that I can capture their love for each other and their new blessing growing inside of her. It is crazy to think my best friend has a tiny little person growing inside her. Jason and Kristi are going to be wonderful parents.  I am lucky that I get to be a part of their moment.

Last week, I took some shots of Alaina and Otto.  Here are the best ones:

Everything's coming up babies!

So I have found a new hobby~ photography.  I have always loved taking pictures but recently have fallen deeper in love with children's photography.  Tomorrow, I am taking photographs of two 3 week old babies.  One is a girl and one is a boy.  Not siblings, but neighbors, and I am totally excited.  Immediately, I took to Etsy and ordered some photograpy props.  This will be my first time taking photos of babies.  But as the title of my post indicates, there are a lot of newborns and expecting mothers in my life right now.
Currently, I know 26 people that are pregnant.  Either high school friends, college friends, coworkers or sorority sisters.  It is crazy to think this many women in my lives are aboout to be mothers.  Or bring siblings for their children into this world.  I cannot believe that we have been married for almost two years.  JT and I are not trying (which devastates my mom). So for now, I will drag my mother along to help me on my photo shoots.  Like tomorrow...

I cannot wait to post pictures from tomorrow.  I have a newborn tutu, bloomers with ruffles, a diaper cover, a set with a newspaper boy hat, a bird bath, a planter, a bean bag, and REALLY soft blanket.  Sounds like its going to be an interesting shoot, huh?

Below are a few of the pictures that I will try to recreate:

Another year has come and gone...

Wow, I cannot believe it is 2011. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's have all come and gone. Now it is time to put on my inspirational hat and getting to working on a new project of mine. My 30 Before 30 list. I turn 30 in 2012 and I know that may seem far away but there are a lot of things I want to accomplish before then. 30 is a monumental moment for a woman. I have decided to achieve 6 goals in 5 areas. These are:
Mind
Body
Spirit/Soul
Travel
Money
I have almost narrowed down my specific goals and I will try to keep you all posted when I do.
